Addressing the importance of food pantries for students, Dr. Cornejo emphasized that, “all the research–whether you’re looking physiologically or psychologically–a student who is food insecure and not eating is going to have a hard time paying attention in class and being successful in school.” Dr. Cornejo’s hands-on experience with students and observations of students frequently depending on the mobile pit stops for snacks or meals, reinforces the importance and pressing need for having accessible food resources for students on campus. The fliers for the Pitstops recognize this need as well.
