Welcome to The Pioneer!

Hello, Prairie State students, educators, and staff members!

 My name is Caleb Avila and I am the Editor in Chief of The Pioneer Magazine at Prairie State College. On behalf of myself and the current team, I would like to say that we are excited to announce the launch of the brand new Pioneer Magazine! After being shut down for four years due to the pandemic that shook our world back in 2020, Prairie State College has finally decided to restart our school newspaper, “The Pioneer.” 

 In “The Pioneer”, you will read stories and articles regarding various topics and subjects on all things PSC related. From sports, to entertainment, interviews with professors, and pressing issues in our community, within each issue you will get a glimpse into the mind and thoughts of the students, educators, and faculty that make up our school community.

 As this semester begins, I hope this issue finds you well and you are able to gain a better appreciation and understanding for your school and the amazing community within Prairie State College.

 With that being said, I hope you all enjoy the very first issue of the new and improved “Pioneer” magazine, and I look forward to this being the first of many amazing articles to come. Good luck to everyone as we start the 2024 Spring semester and once again, welcome to “The Pioneer.”
