Jamel (he/him) serves as a student journalist for The Pioneer for the 2025-2026 school year. He grew up Chicago Heights, IL. He is pursuing an A.A.S. in Photography as well as an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts. He plans to transfer to Governors State University to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies. He enjoys learning about history, all kinds of art (including everything from paintings, to films, to live performances), and different cultures around the world.
